Adoption Photo Challenge Week 5: Life

week 5 collage life

I know, I know.  I’m a week late.  I just wasn’t sure how we were going to tackle this photo challenge for the week 2 weeks ago.  How do you represent “life” in a few photos?  So I thought I’d take a series of photos over a period of a week and turn them into a video to give you an idea of what our week was like with us.

Now, I have to be honest, there were 2 difficulties I found with this idea as we wrapped the week up.  First, a week during the summer is very different for us compared to a week during the school year.  With all 3 of us at home together during the summer, we do A LOT together.  And with this past week being our last full week together before we start the process of heading back to school, we spent a lot more time out and about than we usually do.  So you are going to see more photos of us away from home than is usual.

Second, I really had the best of intentions of trying to show you EVERYTHING about life, including the day-to-day stuff, like making dinner, laundry, cleaning the bathroom, sleepiness in the morning, and 4-year-old tantrum fits.  Really, I did.  It’s just that when you are scrubbing the toilet, folding the clean towels, or trying to figure out how to diffuse a grouchy 4-year-old who should have napped, grabbing the camera isn’t your #1 priority!  Just know that we do all that stuff just like everyone else!!!

I won’t give you descriptions for every photo that you see in the video, but here are some things we did this week…

  • Play-doh
  • Family dinners
  • Hiking
  • Reading
  • Letterboxing (kind of like following clues to get to a special destination)
  • Swim lessons
  • Out for pizza
  • Trip to the local market
  • Trip to the local city library
  • Playing in the water in the backyard
  • More hiking
  • Picnicking
  • Explored at a local nature center
  • Superhero dress-up
  • Lego play
  • Trips to playgrounds

Hope you enjoyed a peek into our life!

Up for next week: Home-cooked Meal!  Yum!
